With Calgary's frequent chinooks, please be aware that the common pathways and sidewalks on the property can be very icy and take extra precautions when walking. Our landscape contractor does their best to keep these areas clear; however, during the chinooks, melted water can freeze overnight, pushing away de-icer and creating new ice. De-icer is available to all residents from the bins located outside all garbage sheds.
The downspouts in the community have been directed away from houses onto the grass where possible and towards the site drains; however, during the winter while the ground is frozen, water is unable to permeate the grass surface and will instead travel across the grass underneath the snow towards the pathways and the roads. Site drainage is currently under review; however, directing downspouts toward soft landscape surfaces and existing drains remains the most natural and cost-effective option.
